Position Purpose

Performs initial intake information on patients, performs routine diagnostic and screening tests, works with the staff in the Primary Care Department and assists with clerical duties.

Minimum Experience
  • Two years of relevant health care experience.
  • Experience working with an electronic medical database.
Minimum Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical Assistant/ Med Tech training preferred.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

Clinical

  • Performs routine patient care working with the staff in the Primary Care Department.
  • Gathers initial medical information on patient and records information in electronic medical record, acts as chaperone, and provides assistance with examinations and treatments when required.
  • Performs routine diagnostics, screening, and CLIA proficiency test, documents and reports results.
  • Performs laboratory procedures to include but not limited to phlebotomy, mono, strep, EKG, Spirometry, and HIV testing.
  • Administers immunizations.
  • Participates and provides support in health service outreach programs and clinics.
  • Acts as liaison between provider and patient and parent, when appropriate or as directed, to relay lab results, follow-up reminders, appointment information and messages.
  • Properly documents activities in EMR.
  • Maintains vaccine and clinic supplies inventory.
  • Stocks clinic and exam rooms.

Administration

  • Answers the phone in the Primary Care Department.
  • Clerical work in the Primary Care Department, as needed.

Other

  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
