The Robertson lab at Dartmouth is seeking a Clinical Research Manager to become part of a collaborative autism neuroscience research group. The qualified applicant will contribute to all aspects of project management, recruitment, outreach, and clinical testing for studies of the psychological and neural basis of Autism Spectrum Conditions. Candidates must be driven, creative, organized, and able to work independently. Target start date is July 1, 2018. This full-time position includes Dartmouth employee benefits and lasts for 1 year with possible renewal.

Position Purpose

To contribute to the understanding of the psychological and neural basis of autism by contributing to all aspects of project management, recruitment, outreach, and clinical testing for autism research studies in the Robertson Lab.

Skills & Knowledge
  • A proven record of successful project management and the ability to motivate others to adopt effective practices
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills to represent research projects effectively to multiple audiences
  • Ability to work effectively and compassionately with individuals with autism
  • Stellar interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with Dartmouth students, faculty, administrators, support staff, and funders
  • Excitement about the brain, cognitive neuroscience, and/or clinical disorders
  • Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and sound judgment.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Self-motivated to learn new skills and take on new tasks.
  • Desirable additional qualifications: a master’s degree in a clinical area, research reliability in administering the ADOS and/or ADI.
Minimum Experience
  • One year of relevant clinical/research experience is highly desirable.
Minimum Education
  • Master’s degree in a clinical area or Bachelor’s degree with a major in Neuroscience/Psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Accountabilities

Works as a member of a collaborative group to accomplish projects in a reasonable timeframe.

  • Assists with general lab management of autism research under direction of PI.
  • Recruits and schedules participants for clinical research studies.
  • Administers psychometric characterization tests for individuals in research studies (e.g. Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule; IQ tests, etc.).
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and corrects or recommends solutions to problems associated with design and procedures of autism research studies.
  • Maintains database of research participants.
  • Builds relationships with the autism community in the Upper Valley via coordination and attendance of community outreach events.
  • Maintains a web and social media presence for autism research initiatives in the Robertson Laboratory.
  • Supports, manages, and adheres to laboratory standard operating procedures, to ensure Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), including careful documentation and strict protocol adherence.
