Position Purpose

The Talent Acquisition Consultant will work to fill assigned vacancies within specific divisional and department units. Incumbent will work closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to anticipate and respond to hiring needs including training, conducting interviews, qualifying candidates, and ensuring a compliant hiring process. This position will also be responsible for sourcing, identifying and screening highly qualified talent for hard to fill positions across campus.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong written/verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, and the ability to make presentations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment laws and OFCCP compliance.
  • Creative problem solver with ability to work independently and as part of team.
  • Demonstrated ability in effectively managing multiple searches and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, MS Office proficiency, a multi-tasking style and project management approach.
Minimum Experience
  • Three plus years of progressive recruiting experience.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of employment categories.
  • Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Demonstrated use of social media and internet sourcing for recruitment.
  • Familiarity with electronic applicant tracking system.
  • Strong sourcing and networking skills.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Recruiting/Hiring

  • Provides consultation to hiring managers on all aspects of the hiring process, including hiring strategies, recruitment cycle timing, coaching and guidance on best practices and sourcing trends
  • Responsible for recommending and executing talent acquisition strategy to ensure a successful candidate search within identified time frames
  • Provides Job Scoping and Labor Market Assessment/Analysis to hiring managers including market conditions, candidate availability, other benchmarks etc.
  • Maintains strong partnership with department leaders in assigned areas to ensure a clear understanding of business needs
  • Creates a positive candidate experience (for both internal and external candidates) throughout the recruiting process
  • Coaches and advises hiring managers on interviewing techniques and legal issues regarding hiring practices
  • Maintains and coordinates advertising/marketing strategies
  • Provides training to hiring managers, search committees, and stakeholders as needed
  • Conducts reference checks, communicates status of selection process to applicants, and manage ATS workflow process
  • Represents Dartmouth at conferences and various career events
  • Ensures compliance with Dartmouth policies, state and federal laws relating to recruitment

Sourcing and Networking

  • Develops and maintains a pipeline of highly qualified talent that are available to present to hiring managers. Cultivates candidate pools and manages candidate engagement using contemporary and “high-touch” methods
  • Identifies and develops sourcing and networking strategies
  • Utilize social media platforms to advertise, find talent, and communicate with potential candidates

  • Supports Dartmouth diversity recruitment goals/initiatives by participating in and promoting programs that attract qualified candidates from underrepresented groups
  • Maintains and builds relationships and partnerships with national, state, local, community-based and professional organizations to further Dartmouth’s diversity and inclusivity goals
  • Use affirmative action plan and labor market information to identify strategic diversity recruitment sources
