Wed, Fri, Sat 8:30pm-2:30am (Late night and weekend hours – schedule might change based on availability and events) This is a part-time position (15-18 hours/week). Position Purpose

The Collis Event Manager works with the department’s core management staff and has operations responsibilities that support the mission of the Collis Center for Student Involvement: supervising student employees, overseeing the evening activities in the Collis Center, supporting the tech crew, facility operations, managing technical services, and ensuring the safety of students, staff and patrons.

Minimum Experience

• Experience in building operations and management.
• Experience with sound, lighting, and audio-visual equipment.
• Experience supervising and advising students/employees.
• Experience holding students accountable for their behavior.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

Facility Operations
• Holds students and staff accountable for their behavior.
• Ensures the safety of all Collis Center patrons.
• Reports inappropriate behavior to Campus Safety and Security.
• Serves as administrative liaison with users of the center, including the Collis Late Night Café dining staff.
• Assists the Assistant Directors in facility management and operations, including supporting late night operations, events and activities.
• For select events, serves the role of event coordinator and on-site event manager.
• Assists the Tech crew as needed (must be able to lift 50 lbs.).
• Attends weekly staff meeting and bi-weekly operations meetings.

Staff Supervision & Development
• Supervises and evaluates the Collis closing shift student building managers.
• Assists the Assistant Director of Operations with late night event management.
• Assists the Director of the Collis Center in the assessment of a comprehensive, year round, late night staff position.
• Assists the Collis Coordinator in hiring, training and supervising the closing shift managers.
• Attends weekly student manger meetings.

Student Group and Event Supervision
• Assists the Director in coordinating and facilitating student and faculty partnerships, including programming and coordinating social events.
