Position Purpose

To perform sales of computer hardware, software, and accessories in The Computer Store.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for frequent interaction with customers.
  • Solid Understanding of accounting, knowledge of inventory management beneficial.
  • Good Judgment, initiative, discretion, organization and the ability to work independently, and with frequent interruptions.
Minimum Experience
  • Two years of relevant experience in retail sales and customer service.
Minimum Education
  • High School graduate; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Sales & Service

  • Staffs the Computer Sales & Service counter providing information regarding sales of computer hardware and other computer support items.
  • Verifies eligibility of prospective customers to make purchases from the store.
  • Clarifies customer needs and addresses a wide variety of proposed purchase related concerns.

Customer Service

  • Responds to customer inquiries and expressions of dissatisfaction.
  • Responds to a range of in-person and telephone inquiries regarding computer capabilities, up-gradability, availability of stock, prices, new releases, compatibility issues, etc.
  • Communicates respectfully to a diverse community. Promotes understanding of similarities and differences in diverse cultures through staff and employee education.

Point of Sales System

  • Operates Point of Sales System by entering all sales transactions, stock receipts and non-receipts, etc.
  • Runs end of day close-out/sales report and reconciles to revenue receipts.


  • Assists Manager in reconciliation of multiple accounting transactions for The Computer Store.
  • Processes invoices for vendors for equipment purchased for resale.
