schedule: M-F 6am - 10am. Position Purpose

The Unit Technician is responsible for cleaning restricted and clinical areas, and other duties commonly associated with housekeeping attendants in a hospital setting.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Ability to operate equipment such as floor polisher/buffer.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
Minimum Experience
  • Experience in housekeeping, preferably in health care/ hospital setting.
  • Experience in commercial floor care.
Minimum Education
  • High school graduate.

Operations

  • Perform floor care maintenance (including dust mopping, mopping, polishing/buffing) being aware of optimal times in the day to cause least disruption for inpatients, outpatients, and their treating providers.
  • On a daily basis, clean inpatient infirmary rooms and outpatient examining rooms, maintaining at hospital level of cleanliness.
  • Clean restricted access rooms, adhering strictly to infection control standards and confidentiality policy. Stock supplies. Remove used linens and red bagged medical waste. Clean up patient spills. Maintain hospital cleaning supplies.
  • Shred confidential patient materials from provider rooms, inpatient unit, medical records, and pharmacy.
  • Maintain the staff lounge/kitchen area.
  • Perform the opening/unlocking and closing/locking of offices and patient rooms in assigned areas. Assist with antique inventory and security checks.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
