Position Purpose

Coordinates and administers programs, events, and office operations for the Healthcare Initiative at Tuck, ensuring these activities are well-organized, and run smoothly and efficiently. Contributes to an outstanding team that is integral to Tuck’s distinct learning community that creates, teaches, and applies life-changing knowledge.

Skills & Knowledge

• Able to effectively represent Initiative with students, faculty, executives, high-profile visitors, and other constituencies.
• Able to anticipate, plan, and prioritize work using sound judgment, self-initiative, and discretion.
• Excellent communication, administrative, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe products. Willingness to learn and optimize software and systems.
• Commitment to building an inclusive community that values the diversity of backgrounds, talents, experiences, and perspectives of all its members.

Minimum Experience

• Experience planning and managing high-profile complex events and/or conferences, preferably at a top-ranked academic institution or other similar professional environment.
• Experience interacting with diverse stakeholders, such as students, faculty, and business executives.
• Experience contributing to a high performing team with a track record of outstanding results.
• Experience or interest in healthcare.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, social science, economics, science, public health, or similar field, or the equivalent in education and experience.

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities

• Contributes ideas and suggestions to the design and planning of programs (e.g., HCI Fellows program, Netherlands exchange program and Global Insight Expedition, and joint degree programs) and events (e.g., speakers, discussions/seminars, and alumni activities) and ensures successful delivery.
• Plans, organizes, and staffs Initiative and affiliated student-led meetings and events according to Initiative leadership’s priorities, expectations, and standards, including: announcements; participant sign-up; facilities, catering, technology, and other logistical considerations; visitor travel and lodging; and any other arrangements. Reviews and finalizes plans with Initiative leadership.
• Collaborates as needed with other Tuck or Dartmouth offices on planning, organizing, and implementing Initiative’s priorities.
• Creates, updates, and maintains calendar of Initiative and related meetings and events; communicates pertinent information to students, faculty, and other constituents.
• Drafts, updates, edits, proofreads, and distributes printed and online materials and communications related to Initiative and its programs, meetings, events, and other activities, utilizing resources to effectively connect with intended audiences. Updates Initiative website with Tuck Communications.
• Collects and consolidates information for use in Initiative reports, publications, and donor communications, as requested.
• Processes fellows program applications; gathers student survey data; prepares and sends follow-up correspondence with students; and responds to questions and inquiries.
• Screens and reviews incoming phone calls, correspondences, and emails for prioritization and action by appropriate colleagues, including responding to inquiries as authorized.
• Maintains program budgets; prepares and tracks expense reports and other financial transactions with Finance Office. Arranges travel as needed.
• Establishes and maintains digital records, correspondence, and other files to ensure accuracy and accessibility of information. Updates and maintains contact lists.
• Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
