This position is a 24-month term position. Position Purpose

To assist in the planning, execution and management of DEN-related alumni engagement programs, emphasizing activities connecting the greater Dartmouth entrepreneurial community at Dartmouth and beyond with special emphasis on West Coast activity. Reports to the Director of Entrepreneurship and coordinates with major alumni participants.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Self-starter – ability to work independently, taking initiative to advance projects and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
  • Event organizational and management skills.
  • Knowledgeable about the entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of students, faculty, staff, and outside partners from all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to prepare reports and presentations with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with a variety of computer software applications.
  • Willingness and availability for evening, weekend events and for travel as scheduled in advance.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
Minimum Experience
  • Five years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Career driven individual with passion for technology, entrepreneurship, innovation, and startups.
  • Experience and understanding of the Dartmouth Alumni community and network preferred.
  • Staff supervision experience preferred.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth strongly preferred.

Program Development & Evaluation

  • Works in full coordination with the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network (DEN) at Dartmouth College with oversight by the Director of Entrepreneurship, executes entrepreneurial program goals, engaging in all aspects of both external and internal programmatic offerings from planning and content development to logistics coordination, leading the execution.
  • Supports the annual Dartmouth Entrepreneurs Forum, SF in all aspects of planning and execution.
  • Works closely with the Center for Professional Development and Dartmouth for Life to support Bay Area internship participants and create entrepreneurial specific programming for further educational, skill development, networking and comradery building opportunities.
  • Develops and manages relationships with Dartmouth alumni, serving as a point person for the DEN City Chapter network, maintains relationships with Bay Area startups, and other professional service partners.
  • Tracks highlights for marketing (new partnerships, startup announcements, introductions, etc.) and directs synergies to support program development and execution through identifiable speakers both for DEN West Coast specific programs and DEN Hanover programming.
  • Attends various events in the community and promotes the DEN and Dartmouth brand.
  • Identifies opportunities to collaborate with other offices and divisions, included but not limited to Tuck School of Business, Thayer School of Engineering, Geisel School of Medicine, Center for Professional Development, Hopkins Center, and the School of Arts & Sciences, to build internal partnerships creating innovative program offerings, strengthen current programmatic offering.
  • Evaluates program administration and delivery processes, recommending changes, creating processes or systems as needed, and managing relevant vendors.
  • Conducts program evaluations; oversees sponsorship reporting and processing.
  • Manages special initiatives and projects in coordination with the Director.

Operations Management

  • Ensures that business operations are efficient and effective.
  • Works within established Dartmouth systems and processes in operations, records management, information systems, risk management, and development efforts.
  • Supports stewardship and donor engagement through Advancement and other appropriate offices.
  • As appropriate, provides supervision to volunteers or student staff.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
