This position is a 12-month term position. Position Purpose

To support communication, outreach, events, and program implementation for the Sustainability Office. This person will work closely with student engagement and education programs and will play a key role in making Dartmouth College a recognized sustainability leader in action, thought, and education. To help the Sustainability Office progress towards accomplishing its mission.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data management skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to actively participate in strategic planning and visioning discussions.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license and must remain in good standing as a Dartmouth approved driver.
  • Knowledge of basic communication tools, various social media platforms, and Google & Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of Dartmouth Sustainability Office student programs, initiatives, and past events.
  • Commitment to diversity and to participation in a community of inclusion.
Minimum Experience
  • Previous experience organizing events.
  • Experience in the implementation of sustainability initiatives, campus initiatives and/or environmental projects.
  • Previous experience with quantitative analysis.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or related field.

Sustainability Program Support

  • Building and implementing key student engagement programs in the Sustainability Office including, but not limited to, the Dartmouth Green Careers Program, the Sustainability Consultancy Program, EcoReps, EcoVate, and Green Groups.
  • Assisting in implementation of Office’s Action Plan for Inclusivity and Intersectionality, including development of assessment tools, relationship building across campus, programming, and integration of new knowledge & best practices into Office habits.
  • Developing and implementing new programs that reach broad and diverse audiences of students, faculty, and staff on campus.
  • Supporting communication and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Organizing outstanding campus sustainability events and supporting event logistics
  • Engaging in, and sometimes facilitating, strategic planning discussions about Office growth, strengthening, and assessment.
  • Assisting in reporting, to include AASHE’s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS), the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, solid waste database, and Balanced Scorecard,
  • Serving as an enthusiastic resource to student, faculty, and staff collaborators.
  • Contributing, refining and implementing top notch, innovative ideas that help make Dartmouth a sustainability leader.
