Dartmouth College invites applications for the position of Marketing and Events Assistant. The successful candidate will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing in the creation and implementation of marketing plans for ticketed sports. Responsibilities include implementation of digital and social media campaigns, advertisement design, and grass roots marketing initiatives, as well as coordination of the Big Green Youth Fan Club, game day promotions and student workers.

Position Purpose

To assist with marketing programs that support varsity athletics events, including event promotion, ticket sales, corporate sponsorship fulfillment, and community outreach for Dartmouth Athletics.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
  • Proficiency in the use of social and new media.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
Minimum Experience
  • Experience in marketing or athletic administration preferred.
  • Experience with desktop publishing preferred.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelors degree in sport marketing, sport management, athletic administration, general marketing or related field.
  • Masters degree preferred.

Varsity Athletics Marketing & Promotions

  • Creates radio, print and web advertisements for select sports.
  • Coordinates special events and community outreach programs.
  • Produces game day PA Scripts.
  • Coordinates components of the Big Green Youth Fan Club.
  • Coordinates digital and social media initiatives.
  • Cultivates and manages student workforce.
  • Promotes group ticket sales with local businesses, schools, and other community organizations.
  • Manages and executes game day promotions for select sports.

Corporate Sponsorships

  • Assists with corporate sponsor contract fulfillment.
