Position Purpose

The Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant will work to fill assigned vacancies within specific divisional and department units. Incumbent will work closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to anticipate and respond to hiring needs, including training, conducting interviews, qualifying candidates, and ensuring a compliant hiring process. This position will also be responsible for sourcing, identifying and screening highly qualified talent for hard to fill positions to present to talent team and other stakeholders across campus.

  • Must have strong written/verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, and the ability to make presentations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment laws and OFCCP compliance.

  • Demonstrated ability in effectively managing multiple searches and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, MS Office proficiency, a multi-tasking style and project management approach.

Minimum Experience
  • Five plus years of progressive human resources experience with at least 3 years’ experience with high volume candidate sourcing and recruiting.
  • Experience managing a full-life cycle recruitment.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of employment categories.
  • Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Demonstrated use of social media and internet sourcing for recruitment.
  • Familiarity with electronic applicant tracking system.
  • Must have strong sourcing and networking skills.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Recruiting/Hiring

• Provides consultation to hiring managers on all aspects of the hiring process, including hiring strategies, recruitment cycle timing, coaching and guidance on best practices and sourcing trends
• Responsible for recommending and executing talent acquisition strategy with decision makers to ensure a successful candidate search within the identified time frames
• Builds relationships and communicate consistently and proactively throughout the recruitment process to ensure all participants in the hiring process are updated and well informed
• Provides Job Scoping and Labor Market Assessment/Analysis to hiring managers including market conditions, candidate availability, other benchmarks etc.
• Maintains strong relationships with department leaders in assigned areas to ensure a clear understanding of business needs to stay on the cutting edge of matching applicants to department needs
• Creates a positive candidate experience (for both the selected and non-selected candidates) throughout the entire recruiting process.
• Coaches and advises hiring managers on interviewing techniques and legal issues regarding hiring practices.
• Maintains and coordinates advertising/marketing strategies.
• Provides training to new hiring managers, search committees, and stakeholders as needed.
• Conducts reference checks, communicates status of selection process to applicants, and manage ATS workflow process.
• Represents Dartmouth at conferences and various events as needed.
• Ensures compliance with Dartmouth policies, state and federal laws relating to recruitment.

Sourcing and Networking

• Utilizes effective sourcing strategies, including social media platforms and database mining/web searches, etc. to generate candidate leads. Develops a network of sources and relationships with college career development offices, professional associations, community organizations, etc. to identify high potential applicants.
• Develops and maintains a pipeline of highly qualified talent that are readily available to present to stakeholders. Cultivates candidate pools and manages candidate engagement using contemporary and “high-touch” methods.
• Creates and implements high impact sourcing programs such as working with hiring managers to attract potential candidates to job pools.
• Responsible for identifying and developing the best sourcing strategies with the support of the Talent Acquisition team, while managing the balance of direct, referral and agency candidates.
• Maintain and manage Talent Acquisition Dept. vendor tracking tools, relationships, and services.
