This position is a 24-month term position. Position Purpose

To support research and administration in the Dartmouth Social Neuroscience Lab led by Professor Meghan Meyer. This position is ideal for individuals hoping to gain more hands on research experience in neuroscience or psychology.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest or research experience in psychology or neuroscience.
  • Undergraduate level statistics course and experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g. Matlab, SPSS, R, Excel, etc.).
  • Some exposure to one or more programming language (e.g. Matlab, Python, Javascript, shell scripting, C/C++, etc.).
  • Experience analyzing neuroimaging data (SPM, FSL, AFNI, or similar platforms) is a plus.
  • Experience conducting independent research in psychology or neuroscience is preferred.
  • Strong computer programming skills are a plus.
Minimum Experience
  • One year of research experience or similar working background.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Math, or related field.

Research

  • Assist with collecting behavioral and neuroimaging data.
  • Assist with developing experimental research paradigms (Python or Matlab programming experience).
  • Assist with analyzing data.
  • Assist with developing analysis methods.
  • Assist with drafting manuscripts.

Administration

  • Assist with maintaining and updating lab website and wiki-page.
  • Assist with managing volunteer research assistants.
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with ordering laboratory supplies.
-- Performs other duties as assigned.
