Position Purpose

Oversee the operations of Alumni Gym and other Dartmouth College Athletic Facilities from 5:00 pm till closing on weekdays throughout the year and all day on weekends. Schedule will be dependent on the current operating hours of Alumni Gym and Fitness Center. This is a part-time position.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiar or ability to be trained in using the Email system in place for Dartmouth College, currently Blitzmail.
  • Minor Lifting and ability to lift or move objects weighing 5-20 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate with and understand the need for public relations with a diverse community, including administrators, staff, coaches, and the general public. Also must be willing and able to enforce departmental policy.
Minimum Experience

Some supervisory experience preferred.

Minimum Education

Graduate school student or bachelors degree preferred.

Key Accountabilities

Front Desk Supervision

  • Supervise all student front desk employees to ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities and job duties.
  • Oversee and account for financial transactions from day pass sales and student locker sales after the Athletic Facilities Membership Offices closes for the day.
  • Provide membership and visitors with accurate and timely information.
  • Regularly communicate with the Fitness Center staff.

Building Operations

  • Provide supervision for all areas of Alumni Gym and other Dartmouth College Athletic Facilities to ensure that all users have appropriate membership levels, as well as to monitor usage throughout the facilities
  • Liaise with Safety and Security and Facilities Operations and Maintenance in the event of a safety, security or maintenance issue.
